Learning and Teaching Research

We are developing a growing reputation for leading edge international research into learning and teaching. We have awarded 10 research projects on transforming learning and active learning in 2013 through the eScholars Programme.

As a measure of our success in innovating learning and teaching, in 2013 Curtin’s Dr Lynne Roberts received a National Teaching Fellowship from the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT). 6 Curtin staff received were recipients of 2013 Australian Awards for University Teaching.

Curtin was awarded $490,000 in OLT Grants Program funding to lead three projects to explore innovative approaches for enhancing student engagement. Curtin is also partner institution for an additional eight OLT grants.

We also have established a Journal of Teaching and Learning for Graduate Employability which signals our focus in the work integrated learning area of research.

We are aiming to deepen our research capabilities through links to Faculties, Post-doctoral students and a growing database of peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, books and edited special issues.
