Blackboard Collaborate is a live web conferencing and virtual classroom platform that allows staff and students to communicate using a real-time learning space. The main features include two-way audio, multipoint video, interactive whiteboard, application sharing, web tour, polling and session recording. Activities can include introductory exercises, brainstorming, problem sharing and solving, presentation of research and projects, role plays, debates, mentoring and support.
Curtin staff can use Bb Collaborate for:
- learning and teaching purposes from a Blackboard unit
- meetings and collaborating with peers or research partners via a 'virtual office'.
Bb Collaborate has been integrated within Blackboard to facilitate easy scheduling and streamlined access to Collaborate sessions.
If you wish to:
- Participate in a Bb Collaborate training session; or

please contact David Spann by completing the LTS Support Web Form.
If you have never participated in a live Bb Collaborate session before, please access the First Time Users check to configure your computer.
You should also ensure you have an audio headset and a reliable internet connection.
