About Export/Import and Archive/Restore

The Export/Archive Course page organizes all export and archive packages that you create from a course. When you export or archive a course, a link to the package appears on this page. You can download the package to your computer, and then use it in the future for import or restore operations.

Archive and Copy Courses

An archived Course is an exact copy of all of the content and data in the Course, captured at the moment the archive is created. Includes "Preserving Grade Centre Settings and Data".

Importing Course Packages

A course import package is a ZIP file of exported course content. Importing a course package into an existing course copies the content of the package into the existing course. Import packages do not include user enrolments or records, such as discussion board posts and assessment attempts.
