Close to 70 iSmart auto-tracking video cameras were installed leading up to first semester 2014 in lecture theatres and rooms across the Bentley campus. These cameras capture full-motion video and automatically pan, tilt and zoom to follow the presenter as they move around the front of the venue. The recorded video alongside the recording from the presentation computer is then made available in Curtin's existing Echo360 ilecture system as shown in the example below.
An example recording using the iSmart camera can be seen here. The recording of multiple whiteboards in the Sciences is also now possible using this technology. Curtin is the first university in Australia to commit to innovation of this scale with the Echo360 technology.
