Assignments

Assignments can be submitted online through Blackboard via the Assignments tool. They can be added to any content area in a unit and can be deployed to individual students or to groups of students. Once you use the assignment tool, a grade center column is automatically created in the Grade Center.

Tests, Quizzes & Surveys

Use Blackboard's tests, quizzes and survey tool to deploy eTests and eQuizzes to assess student knowledge, measure student progress, and gather information from students.

Ensure you are familiar with Curtin's Online Assessment manual in reference to correct terminology and the maximum contribution an eTest can contribute to students overall mark for a unit.

Create a test/quiz/survey

Once a Test or Survey is built, questions are created or added from existing questions from Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

Setting Test Options (includes setting the timer for a test)

Test and Survey options allow you to edit the name and description of a Test or Survey, (commonly referred to as Tests). Options control the availability, presentation, and feedback for an assessment.

Once Tests, Quizzes and Surveys are created, they are deployed by adding them to a Content Area and then making them available to students.

Upload Test Questions from Microsoft Excel

Questions can be authored offline in a specially formatted text file and uploaded into tests, surveys, and question pools. Once uploaded, questions can be edited and used just like questions that have been authored in Blackboard.
