Change Availabilities

  1. To change the Availability of a Unit select Change Availabilities from the
    Unit Management Console.

  2. Selecting Change Availabilities from the Unit Management Console brings up
    the Change Availabilities screen.

    You have the following options:

    • Add and remove availabilities to the Primary Unit code
    • Add and remove availabilities for Additional Unit codes (if used)
    • Add an additional Unit code

To add an availability

  1. Select the Unit where an availability is to be added and click Next.

  2. Tick checkboxes for availabilities as appropriate.
    Important Note Availabilities already being used are not able to be selected.

    (There is one exception: you can add an availability that has already been used by a teaching unit to a non-teaching unit).

    Select the Add selected availabilities button.

  3. You will see a success message and be given the option to return to the
    Unit Management Console.

  4. Please allow 25 minutes for the changes to be reflected in Blackboard.

To remove an availability

Important Note Warning! Removing an availability from a Unit means any students attached to the availability will be removed from the unit. Removing a student permanently removes from Blackboard all coursework including assignments, test results, discussion board postings, etc. associated with the student.

It is recommened you archive your Blackboard instance and save it to your computer or a local secure storage area before removing an availability. Information about archiving your Blackboard instance is available at: http://ctl.curtin.edu.au/teaching_learning_services/bb_housekeeping.cfm

  1. Select the Unit where an availability is to be removed and click Next.
    The availability associated with the primary Unit code cannot be removed.

  2. Tick checkboxes for availabilities as appropriate and click Next.

  3. Tick the checkbox to Confirm Deletion.
    Click the Remove selected availabilities button.

  4. You will see a success message and be given the option to return to the
    Unit Management Console.

    Allow 25 minutes for changes to be reflected in Blackboard.

To add an additional unit code

  1. Select Add additional unit code radio button and click Next.

  2. Enter the additional Unit code into the required field and click Next.

  3. Tick checkboxes for the availabilities you wish to include and click the
    Add selected availabilities button.

  4. You will see a success message and be given the option to return to the
    Unit Management Console.
